Trust statement · public commitment

The promises we make publicly.

In March 2024, KrebsOnSecurity reported that the founder of the removal service Onerep had also started dozens of people-search sites, and Mozilla ended its partnership with Onerep. Stories like that make it hard to trust anyone in this category, so we are publishing our rules here, in writing, where you can hold us to them.

Eight commitments · chalked on the board

Our rules, written where everyone can see them.

  1. WipedMe will never sell your personal data or share it for advertising. We share only what a broker needs to process your request, the state's DROP platform when you choose to use it, and the service providers we contract with to run WipedMe (such as Stripe for payments, Supabase for our database, Netlify for hosting and Zoho for email and our request records).

  2. WipedMe is not a data broker. We are not registered as one in California, Vermont, Texas, or Oregon because we do not meet the legal definition. We will never operate a people-search or lookup service.

  3. WipedMe has no ownership, financial interest, or undisclosed affiliation with any data broker, people-search service, or breach-data aggregator.

  4. We collect only what we need to file your requests. Your details go to the sites we file with and the providers above, and nowhere else. The public page that verifies your signed authorization shows only a redacted summary. Our Privacy Policy lists every kind of disclosure.

  5. We log every request we file and what we saw at our last check. We never report a listing as removed unless it was not present at our last check, and we tell you the date of that check.

  6. Your data is stored with Supabase, and our request log and evidence in Zoho WorkDrive, each encrypted at rest by its provider. Only our server holds the database key (there are no public database keys), and row-level security is enabled with no public access policies. Payments are handled by Stripe, and we never see your full card number.

  7. We never use trial traps, never pre-check upsells, never split charges to hide them from your card alerts, and never make cancellation hard. You can cancel online from Manage billing, or by emailing support@wipedme.com.

  8. If WipedMe is acquired, sold, or restructured, this trust statement transfers to the acquirer or the deal does not close. In writing.
