How signing works
- After checkout, you enter the details we file with, then sign this authorization on your setup page by typing your full legal name and confirming three separate statements.
- On a Duo or Household plan, every other adult signs their own authorization through their own private link. We file nothing for anyone until their own signature is on record.
- We record the date and time, your IP address and browser, and a SHA-256 fingerprint of this exact text, so the signature can be verified later. Each signed record is chained to the one before it, so it can't be quietly edited.
- When a site asks for proof that we represent you, we give it a verification link (wipedme.com/verify/<reference>) that shows your name, your state and a masked email, and whether the authorization is still in effect. Nothing else.
- You can revoke it any time by emailing privacy@wipedme.com from the address on file. It also ends when your subscription ends.
What it can and can't do
In California, an authorized agent can request deletion, correction and opt-out for you. Outside California, an agent can generally only request an opt-out, and some states don't recognize agent requests at all; there we ask each site to remove your listing under its own policy. Either way, we report what actually happened (removal requested, or not present at last check) and never call an opt-out a legal deletion.

WipedMe Limited Power of Attorney & Authorized Agent Designation
Agent: CILE LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company, d/b/a WipedMe
1. Agent
I appoint CILE LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company doing business as WipedMe ("WipedMe"), whose contact details are published at wipedme.com/legal/privacy and who can be reached at privacy@wipedme.com, and, severally and in the alternative, Sameer Khan, the founder of WipedMe, a natural person acting for it, to act as my Authorized Agent (together, the "Agent"). Either may act alone.
2. Appointment
I, the individual named in the signature block below, whose details I provided during WipedMe onboarding (the "Principal"), designate, appoint and authorize the Agent to act on my behalf and in my name, for the limited purposes in Clause 3 only, with power to do what is reasonably necessary to accomplish them.
3. Scope (limited)
The Agent is authorized only to:
- Submit requests to opt out of the sale or sharing of my personal information, and to limit the use of my sensitive personal information, to any data broker, people-search service, or other business.
- Submit requests to delete or correct my personal information where the applicable law permits an authorized agent to make that request on my behalf, and otherwise ask the business to remove or suppress my information under its own policy.
- Receive, process, and respond to verification challenges and correspondence about those requests on my behalf.
- Re-submit requests on a continuing basis while this authorization is in effect, because businesses commonly re-list information from public records.
- If I am a California resident: after the California Privacy Protection Agency has verified my California residency on the Delete Request and Opt-out Platform ("DROP"), aid me with my DROP deletion request as my disclosed authorized agent.
- Sign documents reasonably necessary to do the things listed above.
The Agent may NOT: sell, license, rent, or trade my personal information; use it for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than the requests above; request copies of the personal information a business holds about me (an access or portability request) unless I separately direct it in writing; or cancel or withdraw a DROP request except at my express direction. The Agent may disclose my personal information only to (a) the businesses that receive my requests, (b) the DROP platform operated by the California Privacy Protection Agency, and (c) service providers that process it for the Agent under written contract, solely to deliver this service, such as the hosting, database, email, and payment providers named in the WipedMe Privacy Policy; and otherwise only (d) where the law requires it, such as in response to a valid subpoena or court order, (e) where reasonably necessary to investigate misuse of the service or to protect someone's safety, as described in the WipedMe Privacy Policy and Acceptable Use Policy, or (f) to a successor to WipedMe's business that agrees in writing to honor the WipedMe Privacy Policy.
4. My rights differ by state
I understand that the rights an authorized agent may exercise differ by state. In California, an agent may submit deletion, correction, and opt-out requests. Outside California, an agent can generally only submit opt-out requests, and in many states the law does not recognize agent requests at all. Where the law does not give an agent a deletion right, WipedMe will submit an opt-out or a removal request under the business's own policy, and will describe the outcome to me accurately, never as a legal deletion.
5. Personal information I provide
I provide the identifiers reasonably necessary for businesses to locate my records: my legal name and any other names I have used, my state of residence, my current address and up to five prior addresses, my telephone numbers and email addresses, and, if I choose, my date of birth. WipedMe will collect no more than is necessary. I am NOT asked for, and must not provide, my Social Security number, driver's license or other government ID number, or any financial account number.
6. Only me, and I am an adult
I am at least 18 years old. This authorization covers only me. Any other adult covered by my WipedMe plan must sign their own authorization before anything is filed for them.
7. Term and revocation
This authorization takes effect when I sign it electronically and continues until my WipedMe subscription ends or I revoke it in writing. I may revoke it at any time by emailing privacy@wipedme.com from the address on file; WipedMe will stop submitting new requests for me within 5 business days of receiving it. WipedMe keeps the signed record after revocation solely as proof of the authority under which past requests were sent.
8. No attorney-client relationship
WipedMe is not a law firm and provides no legal advice. This is a privacy-rights authorization, not a general power of attorney for financial, healthcare, or legal matters, and it gives no authority over my property or affairs.
9. Electronic signature consent
I consent to signing this authorization electronically under the federal E-SIGN Act (15 U.S.C. § 7001) and applicable state law based on the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act. My electronic signature has the same legal effect as a handwritten one. I may request a paper copy at any time, and may withdraw consent to electronic records, by emailing privacy@wipedme.com.
When you sign, you confirm each of these separately
- I am the person named above, and I am at least 18 years old.
- I authorize WipedMe (CILE LLC) and, in the alternative, its founder Sameer Khan to act as my Authorized Agent and to submit privacy requests on my behalf, as described above.
- I consent to sign this authorization electronically under E-SIGN / UETA.
